The mission of Hear to Speak is to provide speech and language therapy services to children and adolescents while educating families about early intervention strategies to improve communication (receptive, expressive, and pragmatic) skills.  The high standards of quality of each family interaction will establish the reputation of Hear to Speak as the leader in solution-focused speech and language therapy services in Birmingham, Alabama.

We offer speech and language therapy from birth to 21 years of age. Our specialties are articulation, developmental delay, nonverbal impairments, language impairments, language learning delays/disabilities, Autism, and feeding disorders.


Meet Ms. Lauren, Speech-Language Pathologist

Lauren Hastings is the Owner and Speech-Language Pathologist of Hear to Speak, LLC in Birmingham, Alabama. Lauren received a Master of Science in Speech & Hearing Science from Tennessee State University and a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology from Andrews University.

She has held various clinical positions in Tennessee and Georgia ranging from rehabilitation centers, school districts, and an Autism center. She enjoys collaborating with a variety of professionals including school psychologists, special educators, occupational therapists, neurologists, and gastroenterologists. Her clinical and research interests include child language disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, the impact of socioeconomic status on language/literacy development, and early intervention.
